Community Engagement
Community groups and clubs across Fingal are invited to apply for Dublin Airport’s Community Fund which has re-opened for applications. The application window is open for a six week period and will remain open until Friday, April 19.
The airport’s Community Fund was launched in 2017 with a total investment of €10 million to be distributed over 25 years. Applications are invited, twice a year, from 13 eligible areas from Santry, south of the airport to Rolestown in the north, and from Tyrrelstown on the west to Portmarnock on the east.
The Dublin Airport Community Fund supports local projects that make a positive contribution to communities around Dublin Airport with applications encouraged across six categories including Environment and Sustainability, Sports and Recreation, Education and Training, Health and Wellbeing, Social Inclusion and Community Development, and Culture and Heritage.
Organisations that have received funding in the past are welcome to submit applications for new projects. Awards from the Community Fund are made by an independent Grant Making Panel.
The Fund also supports up to 20 students per year from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to enable them to attend Dublin City University (DCU) via its Access Programme.
On Friday, March 8, Dublin Airport hosted its annual recognition event for the local communities groups and organisations who were successful applicants in Round 12 and Round 13 in 2023.
Dublin Airport’s Community Engagement Manager, Angela Flynn, said: "In 2023, Dublin Airport was delighted to support 111 projects across our local communities with over €500,000 awarded to brilliant community activities and initiatives. 2023 was a bumper year for the Community Fund with our biggest rounds for applications and queries received to date, and we are delighted to support these community groups as we recognise the crucial role that our communities play in the success of Dublin Airport. We look forward to another busy round of applications and to supporting more organisations and initiatives in our local community."
Groups applying for funding can find an easy 'how-to-apply' guide along with an application form on the airport’s website here. Anyone with questions regarding the fund should contact: communityfund@daa.ie.
