Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) has welcomed British Airways’ (BA) decision to add up to three extra return flights per day on the Dublin-London Heathrow route to its summer schedule.
BA said the changes, which have been made to meet increased customer demand for the route, will see the airline maintain its current winter schedule into the summer, which would bring an extra three flights per day during the summer season.
DAA Strategy Director,Vincent Harrison welcomed British Airways’ expansion. "We have worked very closely with British Airways since last summer, when the acquisition of bmi brought them back onto the Dublin-Heathrow route. Dublin-London is Europe's busiest international city route and this welcome announcement will offer both business and leisure passengers additional choice and convenience when travelling between the two capital cities."
Simon Daly, British Airways Manager for Ireland, said the BA was adding summer capacity on the route due to its popularity.
“By maintaining the current winter timetable, this increased capacity allows us to bring destinations on the world map closer to Ireland - providing both business and leisure travellers with a greater choice of connections to our extensive global network offering at London Heathrow.”
