A record 388,000 passengers are expected to travel through Dublin Airport this October Bank Holiday Weekend, from Friday, October 25 to Monday, October 28, 2019.
Passenger numbers are up 2% over the same weekend last year, according to Dublin Airport.
“More than 2,550 flights are due to arrive and depart at Dublin Airport this weekend,” according to Dublin Airport spokesperson Siobhán O’Donnell. “We’re expecting an average of 97,000 passengers to arrive and depart each day over the course of the October Bank Holiday Weekend.”
Friday is expected to be the busiest day of the weekend with more than 105,000 passengers travelling through the airport. Passengers planning to travel on Sunday morning are reminded that the clocks go back one hour on Saturday night.
Almost 25.5 million passengers have travelled through Dublin Airport in the first nine months of the year, a 5% increase when compared to the same period last year. Dublin Airport has welcomed an extra 1.3 million passengers in the first nine months of the year.
Dublin Airport has the following advice for passengers travelling over the course of this Bank Holiday Weekend:
- Passengers are advised to check which terminal their flight is departing from BEFORE leaving home. Aer Lingus, Aer Lingus Regional, Emirates, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, American Airlines and Norwegian operate from Terminal 2, while all other airlines operate from Terminal 1.
- Passengers should plan to arrive in the terminal building at least 90 minutes before their flight departure time to short-haul destinations and 2.5-3 hours in advance for long-haul flights irrespective of whether they are checking in on line or at the airport.
- Please remember that EU security regulations state that liquids over 100mls cannot be brought through the security screening area. Liquids under 100mls are permitted and should be placed in a transparent, re-sealable bag measuring not more than 20cm x 20cm. Exemptions are in place for medicines and for baby food.
- If you are travelling with children, please use the family lanes provided at the security screening area.
