Dublin Airport is delighted to welcome the launch of Air Canada rouge’s new seasonal service to Vancouver today.
The new route will depart Dublin three times weekly and will complement the airline’s existing service
from Dublin to Toronto. The route is Dublin Airport’s first direct flight to Canada’s west coast.
“We are delighted to work with Air Canada rouge to provide a direct service to Vancouver for the summer season, offering
further choice and flexibility for both business and leisure passengers,” said Dublin Airport Managing Director, Vincent Harrison.
“Traffic numbers have been growing dramatically between Ireland and Canada in recent years
and we’re sure that there will be strong demand for this new route both from Canada and Ireland,” Mr. Harrison added.
Margaret Skinner, Air Canada’s Director Sales Europe, said the airline was excited to launch the
new service.
“This new route will offer our Irish customers increased travel options, providing not only direct access to Vancouver, but also convenient connections to destinations across Canada and the US through our newly
enhanced Air Canada Vancouver hub.”
Vancouver is Dublin Airport’s fifth destination in Canada, as the airport already offers services to Toronto, St John’s Newfoundland, Montreal, and Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Last year Dublin Airport had a record year, with over 25 million passengers travelling through the airport. Dublin Airport has welcomed over 7.8 million passengers in the first four months of this year, representing a 15% increase, or an extra
one million passengers so far this year.
Dublin Airport has direct flights to over 180 destinations in 40 countries on four continents.
