Luxair is to resume a direct Dublin-Luxembourg service from next March.
Luxair’s decision to resume the route came after extensive contact from Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) to demonstrate demand for the service. Luxair had ended the service in 2011.
“We are delighted to welcome Luxair back to Dublin Airport, said DAA Strategy Director, Vincent Harrison. “We were convinced there was a market for a direct service between Luxembourg and Dublin and have been in contact with Luxair regularly over the past two years to show them the benefits of operating to and from Ireland,” he added.
Luxair will operate its new Dublin-Luxembourg route on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays for the 2014 summer season, which begins on March 30.
The route will be operated by a Bombardier Q400 with a capacity of 76 seats, compared to the 49-seat Embraer ERJ145 aircraft, which Luxair used on the Dublin route in the past. The new service is aimed at both the business and leisure market.
Luxair said the decision to resume operating a Dublin service was part of a strategy to serve its customers better, with a more attractive fare structure and an improved European route network.
