More than 1.1 million passengers used Dublin Airport in February, the same number as last February, according to the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA). However as 2012 was a Leap Year, on a like-for-like basis passenger numbers increased by 3% in February.
Passenger volumes to and from continental Europe rose by 1% in February with almost 540,000 passengers travelling to European destinations. UK traffic recorded a decline of 2% with more than 510,000 passengers travelling in February.
Passenger volumes to and from North America increased by 2%, with more than 76,000 passengers travelling on this sector in February.
Other international traffic, mainly comprising services to the Middle East, increased by 11% with more than 37,000 passengers travelling on such routes in February. Just over 4,500 passengers travelled on domestic routes last month, which was a 13% decline on February 2012.
More than 2.3 million passengers have used Dublin Airport in the first two months of this year, a 1% increase on the same period in 2012.
