Dublin Airport welcomes the news that United Airlines is to expand its nonstop services between Dublin and the U.S in 2025.
With this increase, the airline will be offering its highest ever capacity from Dublin. Starting 29 March 2025, United will seasonally double the number of flights between Dublin and Washington D.C., from once to twice daily. It will also increase capacity on its Dublin to Chicago O’Hare seasonal service with the introduction of a state-of-the-art Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, replacing the Boeing 757-200 previously operating this route.
In addition to these services, United offers year-round daily nonstop flights from Dublin to New York/Newark, as well as seasonal daily nonstop services from Shannon to New York/Newark and Chicago O’Hare.
United will offer more flights and seats from Dublin than any other U.S. airline for Summer 2025.
According to Graeme McQueen, Head of Media Relations at daa, the operator of Dublin Airport: "United's expansion is great news for passengers and proof there’s demand for increased two-way transatlantic travel between Ireland and North America. The addition of these additional services is also another indication of why it is so important for Ireland's connectivity that the passenger cap on Dublin Airport is lifted.
"Chicago and Washington are already really popular destinations for passengers travelling from Ireland and this will also help bring more US tourists to Ireland over the coming 12 months, which is good news for jobs, the economy and the hospitality industry throughout the island. United is a great airline and we can't wait to work with them closely in 2025 to make these additional services a roaring success."
Karolien De Hertogh, Director Sales UK and Ireland, United Airlines, said: “With this substantial increase in capacity and expansion of our Dublin schedule, we are delighted to offer our customers in Ireland even greater travel choice when booking their next U.S. getaway for summer 2025.
“For summer 2025, our customers in Ireland can also benefit from seamless connectivity via our hubs in New York/Newark, Chicago O’Hare and Washington D.C., to or from over 150 onward destinations across the Americas.”
