Dublin Airport has launched a public campaign to name its new mascot.
The airport this week unveiled its new hare mascot - a nod to the many Irish hares that can be found hopping around the Dublin Airport campus - to much fanfare on social media.
In a video posted on Dublin Airport's social media channels, the very dapper hare can be seen arriving in style through the airport's Platinum Services terminal, where he was welcomed by a huddle of paparazzi on levels not seen since Taylor Swift jetted in last summer.
According to the hare with no name: "I couldn't be hoppier to be here at Dublin Airport - but I need a name! People keep stopping me in the terminals and asking what I'm called and it's getting a little embarrassing to be honest. A few passengers have been calling me things like 'handsome' and 'sweet cheeks', but I need something better. So get on to X, Instagram, TikTok or Facebook over the next few days and get your suggestions in. Until then you'll find me in the juice bar in T2 drinking carrot smoothies!"
Over 200 names have already been suggested, ranging from Dublin names such as "Anto" and airport-themed monikers like "Hairport", as well as "Collin" - a nod to the airport's history having originally been called Collinstown Airport.
Dublin Airport will continue to take suggestions over the weekend, before putting the most popular and fun suggestions to a public vote next week.
