Dublin Airport’s Community Fund is now open for applications for 2025, with a single “bumper” round of €500,000 available this year for local groups in communities surrounding Dublin Airport. The fund, which has already distributed over €2.8 million since its launch, continues to support a wide range of projects in local communities.
This year’s single application window will remain open until Friday, April 25, 2025.
Dublin Airport’s Community Fund was launched in 2017 with a total investment of €10 million to be distributed over 25 years.
In 2024, €498,000 was allocated to over 100 local groups from areas including Swords, St. Margaret’s, The Ward, Tyrrelstown, Ballymun, Portmarnock and Malahide for diverse initiatives in the fields of community sports, recreation, education, social inclusion, sustainability and heritage.
While the Dublin Airport Community Fund normally has two calls a year for applications, both are being rolled into a “bumper” round this spring to facilitate a separate, very special support programme for local schools that will be announced later in the year as part of the airport’s 85th anniversary celebrations. Applications are invited from eligible areas from Santry to the south of the airport to Rolestown in the north, and from Tyrrelstown in the west to Malahide and Portmarnock in the east.
Michelle Molloy, Dublin Airport's Community Engagement Manager, said: "We are delighted to open the Community Fund again for 2025 applications. This year, we have a single bumper allocation of €500,000 available to support local groups and initiatives. We recognise the vital role that our local communities play in the success of Dublin Airport, and our Community Fund is just one of the ways we give back and say Thank You. We are particularly interested in projects that focus on the environment, sustainability, health, wellbeing, and social inclusion. We look forward to our continued collaboration with local groups already supported, and to expanding our support for other worthwhile projects in the coming years."
Kenny Jacobs, daa CEO, added: "Dublin Airport is committed to giving back to the communities that support us. The Fund is part of daa's broader €50 million investment in community-related funds, schemes and initiatives to improve the lives and welfare of our neighbours. daa is committed to being a good neighbour and engaging in meaningful community relations. This includes sponsoring and supporting local festivals, sporting, musical, and artistic events. We encourage local groups to apply for funding and continue to make a positive impact in their communities."
About Dublin Airport’s Community Fund
Dublin Airport not only connects Ireland with the world, but it is also deeply rooted in local communities and significantly influences the opportunities and development of the Fingal region.
The Dublin Airport Community Fund supports local projects that make a positive contribution to communities around Dublin Airport with applications encouraged across six categories including Environment and Sustainability, Sports and Recreation, Education and Training, Health and Wellbeing, Social Inclusion and Community Development, and Culture and Heritage.
Organisations that have received funding in the past are welcome to submit applications for new projects. Awards from the Community Fund are made by an independent Grant Making Panel.
The Fund also supports up to 20 students per year from less advantageous economic backgrounds to enable them to attend Dublin City University (DCU) via its Access Programme.
Groups applying for funding can find an easy 'how-to-apply' guide along with an application form on the airport’s website at: https://www.dublinairport.com/corporate/corporate-social-responsibility/community-fund
